The Florida Carpenters Regional Council Congratulate Workers on Tallahassee Plaza Tower Condominiums at 'Top-Out' Reception

The Florida Carpenters Regional Council (FLCRC) today congratulated construction workers in completing the framework of the $77 million Plaza Tower project located at Kleman Plaza in downtown Tallahassee.

The 23-story, mixed-use development with 202 residential units, 36,000 square feet of retail space and 319 underground parking spaces will also include restaurants and concierge service in its premiere downtown location. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held November 2005, with an expected completion in August 2008.

“The Carpenters Union is proud to be associated with the project, investing its hard earned dollars into not only the development of the Plaza Tower, but also providing our highly skilled craftsmen from the ground floor up,” said Jerry Rhoades, Executive Secretary and Treasurer of FLCRC. “This is a huge economic development and downtown revitalization venture, one that will complement the Tallahassee skyline,” Rhoades continued.

Rhoads made his remarks earlier today at the ‘Top-Out’ Thank You Reception hosted by Plaza Tower development company, BCOM Inc.

The Florida Carpenters Regional Council is comprised of 4,200 active and 5,000 retired members. The Council Training Trust Fund, with an annual operating budget of $3 million in direct training costs, offers its members the finest training in the industry and continually develops new courses to keep members at the top of their fields.

FLCRC sponsors nine training centers across the state through the Jacksonville Carpenters Center, Tampa Carpenters Center, Tampa Millwrights Center, Orlando Carpenters Center, Gainesville Carpenters Center, West Palm Beach Carpenters Center, Fort Lauderdale Carpenters Center, Hollywood Pile Drivers Center, and Miami Lakes Carpenters Center. The Council currently trains over 500 Apprentices and 2,100 Journey level Carpenters, Millwrights, and Piledrivers in Florida. For additional information, please visit our website at www.FLCRC.org.
